Brian Henson directs his late father’s creations in the Charles Dickens classic, the best known (and most oft-filmed) Christmas story of all time. Michael Caine plays the old miser Scrooge with Kermit as his long-suffering but ever-hopeful employee Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy as Cratchit’s wife, and a host of Muppets (including the Great Gonzo as an unlikely Charles Dickens) taking other primary roles in this bright, playful adaptation of the somber tale. Or at least it starts brightly enough–the anarchic humor soon settles into mirthful memories and a sense of melancholy as the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future take Scrooge on a journey of his lonely, wasted life. Michael Caine makes a wonderful Scrooge, delightfully rediscovering the meaning of life as fantastic creations from Henson’s Creature Shop (developed specially for this film) take the reins as the three ghosts. While the odd mix of offbeat humor and somber drama undercuts the power of Dic (more…)

Wedding Videography: Telling Your Love Story Cinematically or Journalistically

By: preme | On: 19 Sep, 2009

We love to tell stories as part of our daily conversation. When we want to convey an important thought, we make use of stories for people to relate to it. Before kids hit the sack, we condition their minds through stories. Even when making a presentation, we cite tales or stories that prove a finding or a hypothesis to be worth accepting. These things that we pass on from one person to another have been going on for centuries. How did you think you knew about how your mother and father met if it were not for the stories they have shared with you?

Stories are also important in describing how wonderful a wedding ceremony could look like. Without cameras, these will only be told by the word of mouth. Since our technology has been fast advancing, things that happened on your wedding day can be shared to your kids with the aid of videos. This time around, anyone who is interested to know about your love story will not have a problem visualizing what has transpired because it is better presented on videos. No one will miss the details of your wedding from the gown you wore till the tiniest expression that you had when you said “I do”. Thanks to wedding videography, wedding stories are better told.

Any couple whom are about to marry can have their video taken cinematically or journalistically. These are just two of the many styles that is typically offered by professionals. Of course, you can settle with the traditional way on which videos are captured as it is and chronologically whereas, these two styles add a dramatic twist to your wedding stories.

Cinematic is one style that makes your videos look like what you see in the movies. These are customized in a way that it can tell a story, reliving the days when you met each other until the special day. It can be romantic, action or even comedy depending on your preferred genre. A professional is fully equipped with high-end equipment that allows them to make your wishes come true. It is also better done when the professional uses a high-definition technology.

Journalistic is a different discipline or art that is used for this kind of activity. It is simply done by capturing images and edits them to make them more organized. Your wedding stories will be told in a way just like that of the documentary films: nothing too fancy nor would it be even fictional. This wedding videography is done spontaneously. Images are taken as it is and the editing just adds a little tweak to it by forms of captions or music.

Videographers commonly use these two styles for their wedding package. Either way, both styles can be used as a better way to convey a love story. Anyone who will watch this can be deeply touched and even you as the main actors of the story will never fail to appreciate the beauty of your wedding day that you surely have missed. Time can fly so fast and even though it has been years from the day that you were joined together, you can still re-live the day or even tell the story in the most concise way.

Summary

We all have our ways to convey our love stories to our kids and interested parties. Commonly we do it by word of mouth. However, if you want to make things more vivid for them, try telling it through videos. It has a better impact.

Britney Calls Her Life Worse Than a Jail Sentence

By: preme | On: 19 Nov, 2008

Britney Spears says that since her breakdown, her life has been worse than a jail sentence – but that she’s slowly healing one day at a time.

“I have really good days, and then I have bad days,” the singer, 26, admits in a new fly-on-the wall, 90-minute documentary, Britney: For The Record, to air in the U.S. Nov. 30 on MTV and in the U.K. Dec. 1 on Sky1.

Struggling to gain control of her life again after her public meltdown earlier this year, she says candidly: “Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like [the Bill Murray movie] Groundhog Day.”

She adds, “I’m having to pay for it for a really long time.”

Spears was hospitalized for mental evaluation in January, which resulted in her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, being granted sole custody of their sons, Preston and Jayden. Her father, Jamie Spears, also gained legal control over her affairs.

“If I wasn’t under the restraints that I’m under right now, I’d feel so liberated,” she says in the film, which follows the singer as she records and promotes her new album Circus. “When I tell them the way I feel, it’s like they hear me, but they’re really not listening.”

A camera crew followed the singer for three months as she moved to pull her life back on track. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in,” Spears said. “This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.”

Overall, she says, “I think I’ve learned my lesson now, and enough is enough.”

Miley Cyrus: Forever

By: preme | On: 23 Sep, 2008

Miley Cyrus will forever belong to Disney.

Remember that awesome rumor about Miley and Billy Ray walking out of the Hannah Montana show? Well it was just another piece of shit rumor.

Unfortunately, they will not walk out of our lives, hearts, brains and televisions. Miley decided to be formal and issue a statement today rather than a nude photo of herself.

I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people. I couldn’t do it alone. We have an amazing cast that is so supportive, including my dad who has been there for me every step of the way.

That statment was actually a euphemism for:  I’m fully commited to sucking Disney’s balls. It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to be touched by many people. I couldn’t be a whore without my father’s help. Now I’m going to stalk Nick Jonas and send him pictures of my pubescent body.

Whore.
